Youth Development is an ongoing process in which children and adolescents seek ways to meet their personal and social needs, building skills and competencies that allow them to be successful and function effectively in their daily lives.  Youth Development recognizes the potential that youth possess, and builds upon their strengths.

Advancing Youth Development (AYD) training brings together youth workers from across the county, building on their expertise to build an understanding of how the youth development approach can be applied to the daily challenges in working with young people and to begin to develop a set of values, practical knowledge and strategies to enhance their ability to work with young people.

Topics to be covered include:  Youth Development Outcomes;  Services, Supports, Opportunities;  Cultural Assumptions and Adultism;  and Youth Participation/Youth Voice.
