Steuben County residents of all ages can benefit from home health care provided by Steuben County Public Health & Nursing Services.  Whether you're in need of care for an extended period of time or just until you recover from illness or injury, we can provide care for you or your loved one at home in reassuring and comfortable surroundings.

How can I be sure this is a quality service?

With 80 years of serving the Steuben County area, our home care agency is fully-committed to providing the highest quality care in the home environment and places the wellness of its patients above all else.

Steuben County Public Health & Nursing Services is committed to continuously improving the quality of our services to meet or exceed the expectations of those we serve.

Am I eligible?

If you temporarily reside or are a resident of Steuben County you may be eligible for home health care services.  In addition, the patient must:

· have a physician approved plan of care.
· require care due to a medical condition.
· and have a safe home environment.

How do I apply for home care?

The first step is to ask your physician, medical practitioner, hospital, or community agency for a referral.  You can also call us at any of our three offices to find out more information.

Is there a cost?

If you receive Medicare, Medicaid, or have Private Health Insurance, fees may be covered in part or in full.  For service not covered by insurance, charges are based on a sliding fee scale and the patient's income.  Ability to pay is not a requirement for services.

When are you available?

As a New York State Certified Home Health Care Agency, we are available seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

What services do you offer?

Our highly educated and experienced Health Team works closely with physicians to provide a full range of health care services to keep your loved one comfortable and safe while living at home.  They include:

Skilled Nursing Care
Our professional nursing staff provides high quality care including injections, dressing changes, blood draws for lab tests, Intravenous (IV) Therapy and catheter care.

Home Health and Personal Care Aides
Our aides are specially trained to provide general personal care including bathing, dressing, using the rest room, meal preparation, exercise programs, and light housekeeping.
