Native of Adrian; one of the first white children born in Steuben (then Ontario) County; Justice of the Peace; School Commissioner; Town Clerk; first Deputy Sheriff; member of the NY State Assembly, 1835; member of Erie Canal Committee; served in the War of 1812; started the Methodist Church in Canisteo.
