The Steuben County Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance, construction, and snowplowing of 678 miles of County roads and 190 County bridges. The County Public Works Department also builds and maintains 141 bridges on Town and Village roads. County roads connect important points in the County and serve as feeder roads to the State highway system.

Interstate 86 / Route 15 Interchange
The New York State Department of Transportation in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration, has completed construction drawings for the first contract of the project to improve the junction of US Route 15 with Interstate 86 (formerly Route 17) in Steuben County, New York.
