Emergency Blue Light Project

Available to Steuben County residents 60 years of age or older*.  The flashing blue light will enable emergency responders or law enforcement to readily identify your home.  Contact your local Office for the Aging to receive one.

File of Life

Available to Steuben County residents 60 years of age or older*.  The File of Life is a card that enables emergency medical personnel to obtain a quick medical history when a patient is unable to offer one.  Contact your local Office for the Aging or your town or city clerk to receive one. 911 Cell Phone Project

Available to Steuben County residents 60 years of age or older, and victims of domestic violence. Free cell phones can be used to access 911 in case of emergency. Contact the Office for Aging at 776-7813 to request a free phone.
Home Security Checks

Available to Steuben County residents 60 years of age or older.  Law enforcement personnel will inspect your home and point out potential security issues.  Contact the Sheriff's Department at 1-800-724-7777 to arrange an appointment.

Educational Presentations

Available to clubs or organizations wishing information about scams, identity theft, and other issues concerning seniors.  Contact the RSVP office at (607) 664-2298 to arrange a presentation.
*Younger residents with diagnosed disabilities may also participate.
