The Steuben County Youth Bureau is responsible for planning, developing and implementing youth services in the County.

Advancing Youth Development
A hands-on interactive series of workshops sponsored by the Steuben County Youth Bureau. This quality activity is facilitated by a team of specially trained youth service professionals. The course is open and free to any youth service worker in Steuben County. Number of participants is limited to usually 30 people. Positive Youth Development practices are examined and emphasized. The workshops are scheduled as needed or requested.

Baby Think it Over
Steuben County Youth Bureau has 10 Baby Think it Over Dolls for loan to schools, youth programs, agencies. Please call or write to reserve the Dolls for dates needed.
Compeer Program
A companion, peer, equal. The Compeer Program brings sensitive, caring volunteers and persons receiving mental health therapy together in one-to-one friendship relationships.

Jack Lisi Youth Award
A recognition/incentive award for young adults created in 1992 by the Steuben County Youth Bureau and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program as a memorial for the former Steuben County Sheriff Jack Lisi.

Reality Check – Youth Action Program
Reality Check - Youth Action Program:  This program is a partnership between NYS DOH, the Steuben County Youth Bureau and other interested county organizations. The goal is to change community norms regarding tobacco use through civic action. Youth, ages 13-18, from all backgrounds are involved in activities aimed at de-glamorizing and de-normalizing tobacco use in communities across Steuben County and New York State. Activities are designed by youth for youth with adult assistance.

Steuben County Rite Aid Drug Quiz
Students from throughout the county form teams to learn about drug prevention culminating in a two day quiz scheduled in March.
Summer Learning Experience
Summer Learning Experience is a summer six week educational and fun school program for high risk 8 - 17 year old Steuben County Youths.  The program operates three days a week from 8:00 am until 3 pm.  All youth must be referred by a professional youth service person (i.e.. teacher, counselor, etc.) See "more" for additional information.

Task Force for the Prevention of Child Abuse
A committee of caring individuals and human service agency representatives meet regularly to provide information on preventing child abuse. The Task Force also sponsors an annual award. This is for a person or organization that has accomplished something significant in child abuse prevention. Please refer to Application for more information.

Youth Service Sponsorships i.e. “Summits”, “Focus on Careers”
A variety of youth programs, usually single events, sponsored in partnership with the Youth Bureau and other organizations. The purpose is to serve youth and foster cooperation. 
Youth Service Worker of the Year
A recognition program sponsored by the Steuben County Youth Board. The Award recognizes a youth services worker who is employed in Steuben County and who goes "above and beyond" in assisting youth. The recipient receives their Award at the Annual Youth Board Dinner Meeting in January of each year.
